DOG TRAINING AGREEMENT & RELEASE OF LIABILITY

This Dog Training Agreement & Release of Liability (“Agreement”) is entered into by and between Graced Kennel (“Trainer,” “Company,” or “Facility”) and the undersigned Client (“Owner” or “Client”). By signing this Agreement, Client acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agreed to all terms and conditions outlined below.


3. TRAINING PHILOSOPHY & CLIENT RESPONSIBILITY

Client understands and agrees that Graced Kennel’s training philosophy is based on canine psychology, balanced human/canine relationships, leadership development, structure, communication, and education of the pet parent.

Client understands that training success depends heavily upon the Client’s participation, consistency, honesty, willingness to learn, and follow-through with homework and recommendations provided by Trainer.

Client agrees:

To maintain an open mind throughout the training process.
To participate honestly and respectfully.
To complete assigned homework and practice.
To acknowledge that personal growth and self-reflection may be part of the training process.
To follow Trainer instructions and safety protocols.
To disclose all known behavioral concerns, bite history, aggression, medical concerns, anxieties, fears, triggers, and past incidents involving the dog.

Client understands that failure to follow Trainer recommendations may negatively affect training results.

4. NO GUARANTEE OF RESULTS

Client understands and agrees that animal behavior is unpredictable and that no specific results, timelines, certifications, or behavioral outcomes can be guaranteed.

Trainer agrees to provide professional guidance, education, and support; however, Client acknowledges that results vary based on consistency, environment, genetics, health, owner participation, and other contributing factors.

5. HEALTH & VACCINATION REQUIREMENTS

Client certifies that their dog:

Is physically healthy and free from contagious illness.
Is current on all legally required vaccinations.
Has disclosed any medical conditions, injuries, or limitations.
Has disclosed any medications currently being administered.

Trainer reserves the right to refuse services to any dog showing signs of illness, injury, severe stress, or unsafe behavior.

6. RELEASE OF LIABILITY

Client understands that working with animals carries inherent risks including, but not limited to:

Dog bites
Scratches
Falls
Escapes
Property damage
Illness
Injury to humans or animals
Unexpected behavioral reactions
Interactions with other dogs, people, or environments

Client voluntarily assumes all risks associated with participation in training, handling, transportation, evaluations, pack walks, socialization exercises, enrichment activities, and related services provided by Graced Kennel.

Client hereby releases, waives, discharges, and agrees to hold harmless Graced Kennel, Cherish Danforth, employees, volunteers, contractors, affiliates, property owners, assistants, and representatives from any and all liability, claims, demands, damages, losses, injuries, costs, expenses, or causes of action arising from or related to:

Participation in training activities
Handling of Client’s dog
Injury or damage caused by Client’s dog
Injury to Client, family members, guests, or third parties
Illness, escape, accident, or death
Interactions with other animals or humans
Use of training equipment or tools
Recommendations made by Trainer

This release applies whether injuries or damages occur on or off Graced Kennel property.

7. AGGRESSIVE OR DANGEROUS BEHAVIOR

Client certifies that all known behavioral issues have been fully disclosed.

Client agrees to immediately inform Trainer of any:

Bite history
Aggression toward humans
Aggression toward dogs or animals
Resource guarding
Fear-based reactions
Escaping tendencies
Severe anxiety or reactivity

Trainer reserves the right to refuse, suspend, or terminate services at any time if a dog presents a safety concern.

Client remains legally and financially responsible for all actions of their dog at all times.

8. EMERGENCY MEDICAL CARE

In the event of illness, injury, or emergency, Client authorizes Trainer to seek veterinary care for the dog if Client cannot be reached.

Client agrees to assume full financial responsibility for any veterinary treatment, transportation, medications, emergency services, or related expenses.

Trainer will make reasonable efforts to contact Client before seeking treatment when possible.

9. PAYMENT POLICY

Payment is due according to the selected training package or service agreement.

Client understands:

Training fees are non-refundable unless otherwise stated in writing.
Missed appointments without proper notice may be forfeited.
Late arrivals may shorten scheduled sessions.
Deposits are non-refundable unless approved by Trainer.

10. MEDIA RELEASE

Client grants permission for Graced Kennel to photograph, video record, and use images or recordings of Client and/or Client’s dog for educational, training, promotional, website, social media, advertising, and marketing purposes without compensation.


11. TRAINING EQUIPMENT & HANDLING

Client agrees to use approved equipment and handling methods recommended by Trainer.

Trainer reserves the right to discontinue services if Client uses abusive, dangerous, or inappropriate training methods.

Client acknowledges that some training methods may involve leash pressure, structured handling, environmental exposure, body language work, movement exercises, or behavior modification techniques.

12. FACILITY RULES & SAFETY

Client agrees:

Dogs must remain secured unless instructed otherwise.
To follow all leash, entry, exit, and handling instructions.
To avoid dog-to-dog greetings unless approved.
To respect boundaries and safety procedures.
To disclose children or additional participants attending sessions.

Trainer reserves the right to remove any person or animal creating an unsafe environment.

13. INDEMNIFICATION

Client agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Graced Kennel, Cherish Danforth, employees, volunteers, contractors, and affiliates against any claims, lawsuits, damages, liabilities, costs, attorney fees, or expenses arising out of:

Actions or behavior of Client’s dog
Breach of this Agreement
Failure to disclose behavioral history
Failure to follow training instructions or safety procedures

14. TERMINATION OF SERVICES

Trainer reserves the right to terminate services without refund if:

Client fails to follow safety protocols
Client behaves aggressively, disrespectfully, or inappropriately
Dog presents an unsafe risk
Required information is withheld
Payments are not made as agreed

15. GOVERNING LAW

This Agreement shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the State of Georgia.

If any provision of this Agreement is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

16. ENTIRE AGREEMENT

This Agreement constitutes the full understanding between the parties and supersedes all prior discussions, agreements, or understandings.

Any modifications must be made in writing and signed by both parties.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT & SIGNATURES

By signing below, Client acknowledges that they:

Have carefully read this Agreement.
Fully understand the terms and risks involved.
Voluntarily agree to all policies and releases.
Understand they are giving up certain legal rights.
Accept full responsibility for their dog.
